This is useful in a test where negative scoring is in place, and they would prefer to submit no answer rather than one which they&#8217;re not sure about.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Student\/Tests_and_Surveys#take-a-test-or-survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More on clearing multiple choice selection<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Blackboard Assignments:&nbsp;<\/b>you can now grant an&nbsp;additional attempt to a specific student, even when anonymous marking is enabled.<br \/>\nTo do this<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">locate the assignment in the Grade Centre<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">click on the chevron for the specific student, and then on&nbsp;<strong>View Grade Details<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2018\/08\/grant-additional-attempt-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4146\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2018\/08\/grant-additional-attempt-1.png\" alt=\"Grant an additional attempt - step 1\" width=\"1015\" height=\"218\"><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">click on&nbsp;<strong>Allow Additional Attempt<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2018\/08\/grant-additional-attempt-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4147\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2018\/08\/grant-additional-attempt-2.png\" alt=\"Grant an additional attempt - step 2\" width=\"1021\" height=\"215\"><br \/>\n<\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Instructor\/Assignments\/Grade_Assignments\/Anonymous_Grading\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More on additional attempts in anonymous grading<\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Blackboard Collaborate: <\/b>when setting up groups within a course, you are now able<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&nbsp;to&nbsp;enable a Blackboard Collaborate room.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Instructor\/Interact\/Course_Groups\/Course_Group_Tools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More on&nbsp;group tools<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Turnitin: <\/b>we&#8217;ve updated the&nbsp;<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">building block&nbsp;which integrates Blackboard. We&#8217;re now on the <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.turnitin.com\/03_Integrations\/Turnitin_Partner_Integrations\/Blackboard\/Blackboard_Learn\/Blackboard_Basic\/04_BB_Basic_Release_Notes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blackboard Basic integration version 2.7.5<\/a>.<br \/>\nThis version improves the way marks are synchronised between the two systems &#8211; if you edit a grade in the Turnitin Feedback Studio, the change should automatically be reflected in the Blackboard Grade Centre (although we&#8217;d still recommend that you&nbsp;press &#8216;Sync Grades&#8217; before releasing marks to students).<br \/>\n<\/span>The most obvious change staff will notice, is that when you access Turnitin via the Control Panel there&#8217;s a search box. This should make it much easier to locate the correct assignment on a course which has many submission points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Blackboard Math Editor<\/h2>\n<p>Edit 09\/08\/18:<\/p>\n<p>The Blackboard Math Editor was unavailable immediately after the upgrade, but Blackboard Support have now restored access to the tool.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Those needing to insert&nbsp;Chemical symbols into content items will find that the Math editor has been upgraded to a later version of WIRIS, and now supports some chemistry specific content.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Student\/Add_and_Format_Content\/Math_Editor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More on the Math Editor<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Technical issues?<\/h2>\n<p>We will be introducing changes to the visual design of Blackboard in a few weeks&#8217; time.
