{"id":4526,"date":"2019-05-13T07:50:16","date_gmt":"2019-05-13T07:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/?p=4526"},"modified":"2019-05-13T07:50:16","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T07:50:16","slug":"blackboard-course-rollover-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/2019\/05\/13\/blackboard-course-rollover-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Blackboard Course Rollover 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bb.reading.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/pid-218675-dt-announcement-rid-12525876_1\/xid-12525876_1\" alt=\"Blackboard maintenance icon\" width=\"109\" height=\"100\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2018\/08\/17\/course-rollover-requests\/\">Course rollover<\/a> is the annual process whereby Blackboard courses from the current academic year are copied for use in the next academic year.<\/p>\n<p>This post is to provide advance notice that<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Course rollover for 2019-20 will take place on Saturday 29th&nbsp;June<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Blackboard downtime will be required, approximately 08:00 \u2013 17:00 BST.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The process for 2019-20 will follow a very similar pattern to last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The default position is that&nbsp;any RISIS module or programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>which was used in Blackboard in the current academic year<br \/>\n(i.e. in 2018-19)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>and is scheduled to run again in the new academic year<br \/>\n(i.e. in 2019-20)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>will be automatically copied forward as part of Course Rollover.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of Blackboard courses normally fall into this category.<\/p>\n<p>There are some circumstances where course copying will only take place on request &#8211; this applies particularly to <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2018\/08\/17\/merged-courses-and-supplementary-courses-formerly-shared-courses\/\">Merged and Supplementary courses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Full details will be circulated shortly, once the Course Copy Request Form has been updated for 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Course rollover is the annual process whereby Blackboard courses from the current academic year are copied for use in the next academic year.
