{"id":4623,"date":"2016-05-05T11:44:19","date_gmt":"2016-05-05T11:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/?p=1243"},"modified":"2016-05-05T11:44:19","modified_gmt":"2016-05-05T11:44:19","slug":"turnitin-avoid-changing-the-post-date-on-anonymous-assignments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/2016\/05\/05\/turnitin-avoid-changing-the-post-date-on-anonymous-assignments\/","title":{"rendered":"FIXED Turnitin: avoid changing the Post Date on Anonymous assignments"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Update: This issue has now been resolved<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We have had a couple of cases recently where lecturers have changed the Post Date on a Turnitin assignment, and the student grades entered in Turnitin have then disappeared.<\/p>\n<p>Although the marks were not irretrievably lost, this inevitably causes some anguish, and leads to a delay\u00a0in\u00a0the availability of marks to students.<\/p>\n<p>Turnitin Support have advised us that &#8220;Anonymous marking assignment settings will not function correctly when post dates are being moved forward or back&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>So please avoid making any changes to the Post Date if your Turnitin Assignment was set up for anonymous marking.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If, as the Post Date approaches, you are not yet ready to make marks and feedback visible to students, instead of pushing back the Post Date, you could use <a href=\"http:\/\/en-us.help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/9.1_2014_04\/Instructor\/090_Course_Content\/030_Release_Content\/020_Adaptive_Release_Rules\" target=\"_blank\">Adaptive Release<\/a> to temporarily hide the assignment from students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update: This issue has now been resolved We have had a couple of cases recently where lecturers have changed the Post Date on a Turnitin assignment, and the student grades entered in Turnitin have then disappeared.
