{"id":4627,"date":"2016-06-08T10:54:40","date_gmt":"2016-06-08T10:54:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/?p=1394"},"modified":"2016-06-08T10:54:40","modified_gmt":"2016-06-08T10:54:40","slug":"press-sync-grades-to-ensure-the-grade-centre-displays-updated-turnitin-marks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/2016\/06\/08\/press-sync-grades-to-ensure-the-grade-centre-displays-updated-turnitin-marks\/","title":{"rendered":"Press &#8216;Sync Grades&#8217; to ensure the Grade Centre displays up..."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When staff use Turnitin GradeMark to mark student work, the grades entered in GradeMark should automatically transfer to the Blackboard Grade Centre (for assignments with Anonymous Marking, this should happen once the Post\u00a0Date has been reached).<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes this synchronisation does not happen automatically, and you have to use the Sync Grades tool\u00a0&#8211; see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/blackboard-support-staff-assessment\/blackboard-support-staff-turnitin\/sync-grades\/\">Use Sync Grades to push marks\u00a0into the Grade Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>If students&#8217; marks have been changed in Turnitin as a result of moderation, we advise you to press Sync Grades to make absolutely sure that the updated mark is transferred to the Grade Centre.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To do this<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <strong>Control Panel &gt; Course Tools &gt; Turnitin Assignments<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Find the relevant assignment in the list<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Sync Grades<\/strong> link to the right of the assignment name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2015\/12\/sync-grades1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-756 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/files\/2015\/12\/sync-grades1.png\" alt=\"Turnitin Sync Grades\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having done that, go back to the Grade Centre, and you should find that the same marks are showing in both places.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please note, we are only aware of one case where \u00a0marks which had\u00a0been changed in Turnitin were not\u00a0automatically updated in Blackboard.
