It has a <strong>clean design<\/strong>, with clear icons and <strong>adding content has been simplified,\u00a0<\/strong>making it <strong>quicker to work with<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The editor is also <strong>works better on different mobile devices and larger screens<\/strong>. There are <strong>no longer any pop-up windows<\/strong> when using the editor.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You can still do everything you could before but there are <strong>some new features<\/strong> and <strong>improvements to existing options.\u00a0<\/strong>Some icons have changed and the options to do things are in different places, for example, inserting videos or files.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Improvements includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Quicker way to<strong> add content<\/strong> and <strong>embed videos<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\">An <strong>accessibility checker<\/strong> for your text and images.<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Improved <strong>spell-checker<\/strong>, with suggestions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Cleaner <strong>copied and pasted text<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Ability to <strong>include code samples<\/strong> as text<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\">A better <strong>HTML editor<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Improved <strong>Find &amp; Replace.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Updated <strong>emojis<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\" data-contrast=\"none\">Adding Content<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The biggest change is the <strong>Add Content button<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7463 size-large aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/11\/add-content-button-1024x315.png\" alt=\"add content button\" width=\"730\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/11\/add-content-button-1024x315.png 1024w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/11\/add-content-button-300x92.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/11\/add-content-button-768x236.png 768w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/11\/add-content-button.png 1533w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This replaces and consolidates the Attach File, Insert Image, Insert Embedded Media button, and Mashups buttons into one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Content can be added from a local device or the Blackboard Content Collection; Flickr, YouTube or\u00a0Slideshare.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\" data-contrast=\"none\">Embedding Video<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You can still copy and paste embed code to insert your screencasts from Microsoft Stream. It will <strong>highlight issues and allow you to toggle through to correct them<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7467 size-large data-contrast=\"auto\">Alternative text for images.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Poorly formatted links.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ordered and u<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nordered list structure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"6\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Table captions, summary &amp;\u00a0mark-up.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7468 size-full still need to use Blackboard Ally to check the final accessibility of files that you attach using the editor.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\" data-contrast=\"none\">Better formatting on pasted Text<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With the previous Content Editor, any pasted text would retain its formatting \u2013 causing Blackboard items with pasted content to look inconsistent with other course material.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The new editor allows you to either:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Remove all formatting<\/strong> (such font, highlighting, background colours etc) when copy-pasting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>And choose to remove extra HTML when pasting text from other web sources but <strong>retain basic formatting<\/strong>, such as headings, links and bullet lists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Correctly formatted text copied from word processors such as MS Word, retain basic formatting and is converted into clean web formatted text.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\" data-contrast=\"none\">Formatted tags for HTML<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7469
