Blackboard Ultra Practice Courses

Any staff member is entitled to a Blackboard Practice Course. You can use your Practice Course to test out any of the features of Blackboard.

You can also use it to set up a Blackboard Collaborate room which can be used for academic meetings not directly related to a specific course e.g. tutorial sessions.

Step 1: Create a Practice Course

If you do not have an Ultra Practice Course and you are a member of staff at the University of Reading, you can create one via the Create Ultra Practice Course tool located on the Help page on Blackboard.

If you do not see this option on your Blackboard landing page please log a ticket via it@reading.ac.uk

Step 2: Refresh the browser

A page will open with a success or error message at the top of the page.

  • A Success message means a new Ultra Practice course has been created
  • An Error message means you already have an Ultra Practice course.

You will need to refresh your browser at this point, to update your course list.

Step 3: Find your Ultra Practice Course

You can find your practice course in your list of Courses either by setting the filter to Sandbox or searching your own username.
