Enable the Teams Meeting tool in a Blackboard Ultra Course

The MS Teams Meeting tool is integrated into Blackboard Courses and Organisations via the Microsoft Education. This guide explains how to enable the MS Education (for Teams Meeting) tool in a Blackboard Ultra Course or Organisation.

Add the MS Education tool

1. Go to the Details & Actions menu on the course’s Content page. Select Books & Tools.

2. Find the Microsoft Education integration from the Available tools panel that appears. Click on the + to add the tool to your course.

3. The MS Education link appears at the bottom of the Content page where it is hidden from students, by default.


4. In line with the Ultra course template guidance, move the tool link to sit above the Module Evaluation section in the course content structure.

5. You can make the link visible to students by clicking the downward arrow next to Hidden from students and selecting Visible to students.

Enable the MS Education tool for Teams meetings

You will need to set up the tool for Student and staff to be able to access the MS Teams Meeting tool from this link.

Click into the link and when prompted log in with your University of Reading account – this should be automatic if already logged in to Microsoft.

Navigate past the splash screen to continue set up:

Note Teams Meetings is enabled. Other Applications may be added in the future.
