Mental Health Leadership in Education Setting (SMHL Training)

The Charlie Waller Institute, in collaboration with Charlie Waller Trust, are offering Mental Health Leadership in Education Setting (SMHL Training) to all educational settings across the country, with our remote CPD offer. This course has been quality assured for the DfE senior mental health lead training grant and we are delighted to share that we have ranked as 4th nationally on the list of Intermediate Level course providers!

NEW NEWS… As well as our existing offer to schools and colleges, we are now offering an exclusive College ONLY Senior Mental Health Leadership training (College SMHL Training) to all college settings across the country.

The College SMHL training will be delivered in a similar way to our already established Mental Health Leadership in Education Setting programme (SMHL Training), starting with a live half-day online session for SMHLs working specifically in college settings.

Delegates will have access to the suite of created resources across 8-12 module (see format of training information below the steps) which comprise of pre-recorded webinars for participants, which are accessible via the Blackboard online portal:

We are taking bookings on a rolling basis and you can access our training at any point, with dates released for live sessions (usually every two months) once you have made a booking. Please follow the steps below to access our training.

Format of training (applicable for Schools and Colleges as well as College ONLY offer):

Total: 40 hours of CPD plus optional top up live sessions.

Coaching for each delegate – up to 2 hours.

Introduction- Live half-day online session. The 8 online modules below are accessed via Blackboard (online portal). Delegates will have access to:

– Pre-recorded webinars from a range of professionals who have experience in Mental Health and Wellbeing roles, discussing their knowledge and skills

– Resources which include the most up to date evidence-based, as well as best practise, practical examples

A discussion board to connect with members of the University Programme team, as well as other Senior Mental Health Leads on the course

– Remote meeting rooms to allow access to other Senior Mental Health Leads

–  Access to a coach for up to 2 hours to enable support with ensuring practical applications into your educational settings, of a whole school/college approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing
