Dr Fiona Knott and Sue Howson- Neurodiversity. Online Event.

£75

Neurodiverse children and young people, including children with autism and ADHD, experience high rates of mental health problems, such as, anxiety and depression. The morning session, presented by Dr Fiona Knott, will draw on recent research including the lived experience of young people, to explore the way mental health problems develop and present. The afternoon session, led by Sue Howson, will incorporate practical clinical skills development when adapting parenting strategies, to support parents with children who are neurodiverse.

Dr Fiona Knott, a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at the University of Reading, has worked with children with autism and their families for more than 25 years in the NHS and other settings. Sue Howson is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Reading and Exeter and is also a Parenting Practitioner.
