Become inspiring Computing Teachers through developing teaching skills and curriculum knowledge in the fields of Computer Science (CS), and Information Technology (IT) and benefit from our consistently high employment rates.

Our Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Secondary (Computer Science) course leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), qualifying you to teach the 11-18 age group in secondary schools in England and Wales.

We teach you how to plan and teach Computing informed by the most up-to-date subject-specific pedagogical approaches and critical reflections on theory and practice in the field.

Our PGCE students benefit from rich opportunities to work with an experienced and highly-regarded community of subject experts with many opportunities for community engagement and collaborations with local and national leading expert organisations in the field, like the British Computer Society (BCS) and Computing at School (CAS).

Scholarships of £26,000 and bursaries of £24,000 are available for trainee Computer Science teachers. Tuition fee and maintenance loans are also available. Almost all of our Computer Science trainees secure their first job before the course finishes.
