At the end of February, we were delighted to host the DfE’s Get into Teaching regional South East event in the Great Hall on our London Road campus.
It was a brilliant evening which provided excellent opportunity for us, the schools in our partnership and local providers to showcase their Initial Teacher Education programmes and teacher training opportunities.
The event was well-attended with over 170 attendees, resulting in lots of exciting conversations about studying on our early years, primary or secondary programmes.
We were also incredibly grateful to have some of our recent teacher alumni, supporting the DfE Teaching Hub Zone, sharing their experience of what it is like to be a teacher right now and also speak on how their time on our ITE course prepared and supported them for their transition to teaching.
Anecdotally, we were delighted to re-meet those attendees who had visited us at one of our internal events earlier in February and had already applied and came down to find out more and meet the team. It was especially heart warming to have so many lovely conversations with attendees who were really enthusiastic about making a difference to the lives of young people and were keen to find out if they would be eligible for their chosen course.
It was great to see so many familiar faces from our partnership and we hope those who attended found it an equally useful and conducive event.
As always, we hold our own regular in-person or online sessions for interested persons to join and provides an excellent opportunity to meet the programme directors, ask questions and find out more about the courses on offer.
