Conversation Café – Online Group for People with Aphasia

What is the Conversation Café?

The Conversation Café is an online group which runs on Zoom for adults who have aphasia (language difficulties) after a stroke.
It is a friendly place to practise talking and to meet other people. The group is supported by Speech and Language Therapy students.

Who can join?

  • Adults who have aphasia (language difficulties) after a stroke.
  • Are able to attend via online zoom meetings (using a computer, laptop or tablet device)

What happens in the group?

  • The group runs once a year for 5 weeks in February and March.
  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist runs the group with firstyear Speech and Language Therapy students.
  • Each week there is a topic to talk about, but you can also chat about other things.
  • We often split into smaller groups on Zoom (breakout rooms) so everyone has time to talk. We will help you with this.
