The role of students in our clinic

Students are involved in all of our clinic sessions as appropriate to their learning and under the supervision of Highly Specialised and qualified Speech and Language Therapists.

For the majority of the sessions, clients will be greeted by students who will lead or be part of the session.

Students may:

  • Run the sessions
  • Be involved in leading an activity or assessment
  • Communicate with you before and after the session
  • Communicate with other professionals involved in the client’s care
  • Observe the sessions in the room or from the observation room
  • Support research activities in the clinic

We may ask to record your session for teaching. We will always ask for your permission before starting a recording.
