Depending on the type of teaching & learning content you’re creating, and how you want to make it available to students, there are a variety of ways to share content using YuJa that can benefit your students, provide deeper analytics, and save you time when preparing for the new academic year.
Embedding YuJa Content
Using the YuJa Media Chooser* to add videos to an item allows you to embed a video directly into your Blackboard module, providing an opportunity to add signposting, additional context, related files and descriptions.
Videos embedded into items are automatically copied forward on rollover and no additional work is needed to make them available to the next year’s cohort.
Embedding YuJa content is most suitable for asynchronous Personal Capture content, such as:
- welcome videos
- core T&L content for asynchronous delivery
- T&L content that will not change year-on-year
You may also want to embed other kinds of YuJa content in Blackboard, for pedagogic reasons, or to create a folder structure that you want to preserve year-on-year to save administrative time. In these instances, you should be aware that some YuJa content may need to be deleted before the module is made available to the new academic year’s cohort, such as:
- live lecture recordings or classroom capture recordings from the previous academic year
- recordings containing students from the previous cohort
- recordings containing information only pertinent to the previous year’s cohort
*It is also possible to use the YuJa Media Chooser from the Build Content menu. However, this only produces a link that opens in a new tab, without additional context or the option to play the video alongside module content.
