The most fun thing about teaching music is getting to do music with the children. Music lessons work best when there is plenty of practical activity like movement, rhythm work, performing, singing, playing instruments, creating and composing.

This session will focus on how to create practical music lessons from musical stimuli like chants and songs, listening extracts and musical games that help children learn and apply musical concepts through listening, appraising, composing and performing.

We will present practical examples suitable for KS1 and KS2 lessons, and encourage participants to try out these ideas in the session and then later in their classrooms.
