This term we were proud to host the official launch of our newly renovated student space in L14!

Pro-Vice Chancellor Elizabeth McCrum presented and cut the ribbon at the grand opening of this new space.

In response to student feedback, we have created a dedicated, student space on London Road campus, for our students to study, relax and practice faith in.

Within L14, there is now a quiet space, faith room, interview room, work room and collaborative working and meeting areas for both postgraduate and undergraduate students to use.

Our Head of School, Professor Carol Fuller said of the grand opening “It is great to see so many student here and feel the buzz. It is exactly what this space is for!”

Dr Sarah Marston, IoE’s School Director of Teaching and Learning commented “we are delighted with this new student space and hope it will provide opportunities for students to collaborate and to feel a stronger sense of belonging to the IoE”

Prior to the launch our Head of School reflected on what had sparked the renovation – “students fed back via their student reps how much this space was needed, and we are delighted to have been able to respond so positively. It is a perfect example of the power of student voice and the partnership we value so much with our students at the IoE.”

Students who attended the launch positively fed back regarding the new space “The new room is spacious, bright & modern, There is a nice blend of work and ‘chill’. It’s a lovely place to come and sit with friends between lectures. A brilliant renovation!”
