Blackboard Learn: Practice Courses

Any staff member is entitled to a Blackboard Practice Course.

You can use your Practice Course to test out any of the features of Blackboard.

You can also use it to set up a Blackboard Collaborate room which can be used for academic meetings not directly related to a specific course e.g. tutorial sessions.

 

If you have attended any TEL training sessions, you almost certainly already have a Practice Course. You will find this listed under ‘Courses where you are: Instructor’ in your ‘My Modules’ list on the Blackboard landing page.

It will be shown in a way similar to this RDDEV_jb123456: Josephine Bloggs Practice Course.

If you do not have a Practice Course

and you are a member of staff at the University of Reading, you can create one via the Create a Practice Course tool located on the ‘My Blackboard’ tab – scroll down and look for the panel headed ‘Practice Course for Staff’:
