Turnitin LTI: Grade Centre

This guide relates only to assignments created using the new Turnitin LTI assignment tool.

Turnitin LTI interacts with the Grade Centre much in the same way as Blackboard Assignment Tools.

Details of which students have submitted to a Turnitin LTI assignment appear immediately in the Grade Centre.

Even when anonymity is enabled, a Needs Marking icon will appear in the cell for any student who has submitted to the assignment.

Needs Marking

From the Needs Marking page you can click on the student’s name to open the Turnitin Assignment Inbox in a new window.

Mark User Activity

From the Grade Centre you cannot directly open a specific attempt as you can with Blackboard Assessments.

When you select ‘Mark User Activity’ this will open the Turnitin Assignment Inbox in a new window.

Anonymous Marking

Turnitin submissions appear with the Needs Marking icon in the Grade Centre even when Anonymity is turned on.

Anonymous submissions are visible in the Grade Centre because when you click on ‘Mark User Activity’ for any student submissions, this opens the whole Turnitin Assignment Inbox, rather than an individual student’s paper.

Email Non-submitters

Use Send Reminder from the Column menu to send an email to all those who have not submitted.

Column Information

Turnitin LTI columns appear as “No Category” in the Grade Centre.

Turnitin LTI columns are by default included in Grade Centre calculations.  They can be mapped to IC columns at anytime.
