This article deals with Blackboard Rubrics, which can be used when marking Blackboard assignments. There is a different process for copying Turnitin Rubrics. You can copy Blackboard Rubrics into your Ultra course from any other course on which you are enrolled as an Instructor – whether Ultra or Original.
- Copy Rubrics
- View Rubrics on course
- Qualitative Rubric (zero points scoring rubrics)
Important: currently Blackboard does not support non-scoring rubrics. If you copy a non-scoring rubric from an Original course, in Ultra it will be converted into a scoring rubric, but with 0 points associated with each criterion. See the Qualitative Rubric section for details.
Copy Rubrics
Step 1: In the Ultra course that you want to copy the Rubric(s) into, click on the three dots near the top right of the main course page, and select Copy Items.
Step 2: Search for the course you want to copy the rubrics from.
Step 3: Expand the course and scroll down until you find ‘Rubrics’.
Step 5: You can then tick the box to copy all rubrics in that course; or expand the Rubrics section in order to select specific rubrics.
Step 6: When done, press Start Copy.
The rubrics will be copied into the course. Once the copy has completed, you will be able to select any copied rubric and attach it to an assignment.
View Rubrics on course
You can view all of the rubrics in your Ultra course by going to the Gradebook, clicking on the Settings (cog wheel icon), then scrolling down to the ‘Rubrics’ section.
Qualitative Rubrics
In Blackboard Ultra all Rubric are scoring (currently), if you copy a qualitative rubric from an Original course, it will be converted into a scoring rubric in Ultra, but with 0 points associated with each criterion.
Once the Rubric is in Ultra open the rubric and change the Rubric Type from percentage to points, to ensure that it is a zero point rubric.
