YuJa: Use Comments to Add Links

In YuJa you can use the comments feature to add context to your video or add clickable URLs to support materials.

You will first need to allow comments within the video settings as these are default off.

To allow comments:

In your My Media area click More on the video you’re working on. Go to the Comments settings area

In the comments menu:

  1. Enable Comments
  2. You’ll then see two permission levels – one for creating and one for viewing comments. Choose Content Owner & Administrator Only for the creation of comments and All Authenticated Users for viewing.  All authenticated users allows only UoR students and staff to see the comments, even if using the video elsewhere.
  3. Save Comments

Insert Comments

To insert a comment into the video:

1. Begin playing the video until you wish to add a comment.

2. Click on the Settings cog on the bottom bar in the video window

3. Choose Comments

4. Type the text (up to 200 characters) and press the Post icon

The comment will appear to students at that moment in the video at the chosen time. They can click any selectable links within the comment.
