This guide relates to Blackboard Learn ULTRA
YuJa is a Learning Capture tool used to record in-class lectures, making screencasts and to provide video storage for teaching and learning.
In Blackboard Learn Ultra there are two YuJa LTI tools
- YuJa Video (creates a link to YuJa)
- YuJa Media Chooser (allows you insert YuJa videos into the course)
YuJa Media Chooser
If you wish for specific personal capture or non-recorded video content to be embeded within the course content you can use the YuJa Media Chooser:
YuJa Media Chooser within Course Content
To add your YuJa area to the course content area click the plus sign and select Content Market
Select YuJa Media Chooser
Select the video from the list. Or search for the video if not immediatly visible.
You can also upload the video at this point if you wish to upload content this way.
Click Insert Content
Your video will present as a named link in the content area. When opened it will present a full page video.
When adding videos to the Course Content via YuJa media chooser you will have some edit options such as changing the name of the item and whether to set it to open in a new window or not. You can also add a Class Conversation to the item to allow students to discuss the item or as questions.
YuJa Media Chooser in a Document
You may wish to present a video as part of a document alongside other content.
Create a Document and choose Add Content – See our guide on creating a document
In the content editor select the Plus Menu and Content Market
Select YuJa Media Chooser
Select the video from the list. Or search for the video if not immediatly visible. You can also upload the video at this point if you wish to upload content this way.
A pop up will ask you to confirm or change the display name for the video in the item. You can then select Insert.
The video will present as displayed and you can add any further text around the video. Click Save when done.
We recommend that any further text or documents can be added in other areas of the document to make a more comprehensive learning item.
