Microsoft Teams for Teaching and Learning
MS Teams is an online collaboration tool from Microsoft, available to the whole university and managed/supported by DTS.
if using the tool for T&L purposes you can request CQSD TEL guidance and support for the scenarios outlined below.
Key information
MS Teams is used to facilitate aspects of digital learning, for example:
– hosting live online sessions or meeting with students,
– recording live online presentations for assessment,
– providing an informal, shared online space for group or project work*
*Blackboard (or Canvas) must remain the central hub for core learning content, essential course communication, summative assessment submission & feedback, and sharing Reading List material (via Talis).
How it works?
To get started:
1. General introduction: DTS guidance about MS Teams.
2. Familiarise yourself with issues that can arise from poor connectivity
3. Access via office.com & search ‘Teams’ or open via desktop app*
*If you cannot access Teams or have a technical issue, please log a Service Desk ticket.
