New Alumni Groups Launched

We were delighted to organise the launch celebrations for two new international alumni groups at the end of March, as senior staff from the University joined dozens of alumni to celebrate the formation of these associations in Greece and Cyprus.

As an institution proud of our reputation for global engagement, Reading is committed to supporting its alumni long beyond graduation and we continue to work closely with members of our international alumni community to form official alumni groups. Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Professor Dominik Zaum, recently travelled to both Greece and Cyprus to formally launch alumni groups in each country.

Cypriot alumni reception

Professor Zaum hosted a special reception at the Hilton Cyprus in Nicosia, where 60 alumni from the University of Reading and Henley Business School were joined by the British High Commissioner, Stephen Lillie CMG, who spoke passionately about the value of a British education and the importance of remaining part of your university throughout your career.

Greek alumni reception

More than 100 alumni joined us at the Greek Alumni Association reception, which was held in the incredible Residence of the British Ambassador, Kate Smith CMG. Joining the Ambassador and Professor Zaum in speaking at the event were Spyros Kouvelis, alumnus and former Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Head of Pre-Experience Programmes at Henley Business School, Dr George Alexandridis, and the Chair of the Alumni Association in Greece, Panos Katsaras.
