Padlet (institutional license)

Padlet is an online pinboard app for collecting student responses, supporting rich media sharing in the classroom or during self-scheduled/independent study.

Use Padlet to enhance student engagement with learning activities, for example, group discussions, creative collaboration, Q&A, research tasks, mind mapping and online community building.

Key information

The institutional Padlet license allows you to:

– create an unlimited number of padlets,
– import padlets from other existing Padlet accounts,
– share ‘School-only’ padlets which ensure student names are accurately attributed to posts they make.

The first time students access a ‘School-only’ padlet, they will be prompted to activate their university padlet account before they can view it. Please ask students to choose sign-in with Microsoft.

How it works?

There are two roles in Padlet, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Student’.
To generate your university ‘Teacher’ account:

1.Login to Blackboard,
2.On the Blackboard homepage, scroll down to find the Padlet notice,
3.Click the ‘Teacher’ activation link, sign-in with Microsoft and follow the onboarding instructions to create your account.

Once activated, you can access your account via Padlet.com and login with Microsoft. If you require students to create their own padlets, direct them to TEL Support for Students: Padlet.
