Padlet (institutional licence)

Key information

Padlet is an online pinboard app for collecting student responses, supporting rich media sharing in the classroom or during self-scheduled independent study.

The institutional Padlet license allows you to:

  • create an unlimited number of padlets,
  • access via Blackboard Content Market,
  • share ‘University of Reading members’ padlets which ensure student names are accurately attributed to posts they make.

If students encounter a ‘No access’ message, they need to select ‘Sign in and retry’. Please ask students to choose ‘login with Microsoft‘.

How it works?

Use Padlet to enhance student engagement with learning activities, for example, group discussions, creative collaboration and Q&A.

There are two roles in Padlet, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Student’. To generate your university ‘Teacher’ account:

  1. Login to Blackboard, open a course,
  2. Visit the Content Market and select Padlet
  3. Sign-in with Microsoft and follow the onboarding instructions to create your account.

You can access your account via Blackboard or Padlet.com (choose ‘login with Microsoft’). Direct students to TEL Support for Students: Padlet.
