When might I do this?<\/h2>\n

In some disciplines (e.g. Fine Arts, Theatre or Mathematics), students will often be assessed on work which is not suitable for online submission. However, you may want to take advantage of Blackboard\u2019s grading tools to provide feedback via the University\u2019s virtual learning environment (VLE). Similarly, you may wish to provide feedback online when students make in-class presentations, even though no submission has been made to Blackboard.<\/p>\n

It is possible to provide feedback even if no digital submission has been made. This applies to both Turnitin Assignments (covered in this guide) and Blackboard Assignments (see separate guide).<\/p>\n

How do I do this?<\/h2>\n

Create a Turnitin assignment<\/h3>\n

Create a Turnitin assignment as normal: go into the relevant content area of your course (normally the \u2018Assignments\u2019 area), and from the menu bar, select Build Content > Turnitin LTI Assignment.\u00a0<\/strong>If you wish to start marking straight away make the due date today’s date.<\/p>\n

Grading and providing feedback<\/h3>\n

To mark and\/or give feedback on students\u2019 work, go to the Content Area<\/strong> and Select and select the assignment<\/strong> you created.<\/p>\n

You will see a list of all students on the Blackboard course (if the student list is incomplete, click on Refresh Inbox Data<\/strong>\u00a0to refresh the list).<\/p>\n

Please note the grey pencil icon will only appear after the due date has passed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
