We are pleased to announce the arrival of a brand new electric Co-Wheels car at London Road, Acacia Road car park.
The car is the first electric car club car in Reading and is available to use by all staff and students (over 19 years old). This new car brings our car club offer to three locations across our campuses.
You can access the car club from as little as 30 minutes for any type of journey, from business to leisure and personal trips.
Follow the steps below to use the car club:
Step 1: Become a Member
- Set up your account to become a member of Co-Wheels. This process is straight forward but requires a verification process that may take up to a week. Once your account is verified, booking vehicles is quick and easy.
- Join the University’s business account to book cars for work and add a personal account for personal bookings with the promo code ‘UOR25’ for £25 driving credit and no monthly fees.
- You will need to verify your details and will then receive a confirmation e-mail. Your Co-Wheels smart card will then be sent to your home address via Royal Mail.
Step 2: Book a Car
- Book online or download the Co-Wheels app to reserve a car. You can select the vehicle (check out the interactive map for locations) and your preferred time and date
Step 3: Use it
- Once booked, you can pick up your vehicle.
- Use this guide to use the electric car at London Road.
- For non-electric vehicles in other locations, refer to our previous blog post for guidance, or to the Co-Wheels website;
- Once finished, return the car to its’ designated parking bay at London Road. Remember to close the door, put the vehicle on charge and lock the car with your smartcard to power off.
