At the University of Reading, we’re proud to make a positive impact through our commitment to Fairtrade. We’ve achieved 3-Star Fairtrade University status, which reflects the fantastic work of our students and staff. Together, we support ethical trading, sustainability, and fairer outcomes for producers around the world.
To help us keep improving, and in conjunction with World Fairtrade Day on 9 May, we’re inviting students and staff to take part in our Fairtrade survey. It’s a quick and easy way to share your views. As a thank you, we’ll enter everyone who completes the survey into a prize draw.
You could win a hamper packed full of Fairtrade goodies, from chocolate to coffee. We will draw the winner on Wednesday 20 May. So, it’s a great incentive and an even better cause.
In addition, there’s a brilliant opportunity to get involved in person this World Fairtrade Day. As part of the Smile with Sustainability event, come and see us in the library foyer on Wednesday 20 May from 12:00 to 14:00. We’ll be there with plenty of information about Fairtrade at Reading. You can also take part in interactive games and activities. It’s a fun and engaging way to learn more about Fairtrade and how small choices can make a big difference.
Whether you complete the survey, stop by the library foyer, or choose Fairtrade products on campus, every action helps. So, join us in supporting a fairer, more sustainable future, and don’t forget to smile while you’re at it!
