Thanks to your feedback in the 2024 Travel Survey, we’ve made real progress in improving sustainable travel across our campuses - from headline projects to smaller changes that make daily travel easier. Hover over each card to see what we've delivered so far:

Cycle security and supporting facilities were a top priority.
We did!
New and upgraded secure cycle shelters at the Library, SportsPark, Whiteknights House, and soon Central Square; free cycle tagging and sold affordable locks; weekly Dr Bike maintenance sessions; reviewed showers and lockers; support for adapted bikes.

EV charging needs to keep pace with demand.
We did!
New and upgraded chargers across all campuses; switch to Amp EV for lower cost and reliability; new Co-Wheels EV car at London Road.

More frequent, reliable, and direct bus services.
We did!
Launch of the White Knight 20 express route to Reading Station; continued free Park & Ride from Mereoak and a new route from Thames Valley Park; Bus2Work discounts for staff.

Improved crossings, exploring options to improve footways and cycleways.
