University achieves double ISO certification

After a gruelling 8 days of auditing we have once again maintained our ISO14001 and ISO50001 certifications! We’ve been working hard to integrate the energy and environmental management systems. As a result, this has created a Energy and Environmental Management System - the EEMS - that is effective whilst still focusing on continual improvement. The assessor’s feedback was extremely positive and resulted in the re-certification of the system for a further 3 years. Recycling Station Upgrades

What projects are happening, when and where? Sustainability Services has had a rolling programme of upgrading recycling facilities within buildings since 2013 to help achieve the University's target of recycling over 60% of total waste generated (by weight) each year. We have been working closely with Building Support Officers, Health and Safety Coordinators, and other key staff to ensure that facilities are appropriate for each building, and that information has been made available to staff and students in a timely manner.
