University achieves double ISO certification

After a gruelling 8 days of auditing we have once again maintained our ISO14001 and ISO50001 certifications! We’ve been working hard to integrate the energy and environmental management systems. As a result, this has created a Energy and Environmental Management System - the EEMS - that is effective whilst still focusing on continual improvement. The assessor’s feedback was extremely positive and resulted in the re-certification of the system for a further 3 years. Climate Strike

Climate Strike The 30-minute walkout on the 20th of September at 10am is in solidarity with school strikers around the world, whose Friday strikes have pushed climate action to the forefront of global attention. Travel on University Business

It's important for the University to maintain it's excellent research reputation and part of that involves national and international collaborations, conferences and working. For many staff at some point this is likely to involve travelling on University Business. The University of Reading is committed to reducing carbon emissions from Business Travel and has adopted a business travel hierarchy to help everyone make appropriate decisions about travel options by reducing the need to travel, using lower carbon modes by preference and only use higher carbon modes after careful consideration. Where Does Our Waste Go?

This page provides information on how our waste is managed, who manages it and where it goes. For more information on what you can recycle or how to handle your waste, consult the Waste and Recycling A-Z. For any clarification or further information do not hesitate to contact waste@reading.ac.uk. Dry Mixed Recycling - cans, plastic bottles, tins, paper etc. Once dry mixed recycling is placed in the recycling bins it is collected by the cleaners and porters and then placed in various wheelie bins across campus.
