As an Academic Tutor you may find that you are your students’ first point of call if they have a question. This doesn’t mean you have to be able to answer any kind of query, and indeed you will want to focus on supporting their academic development rather than fixing their IT or visa issues, but you should be familiar enough with the support available at the university to be able to point your students in the right direction. There are many services and people at the university who can support your tutees in a variety of ways, and the diagram on the right gives an indication of the breadth of help and advice available to students.
