An image of Liaison Librarians standing outside the LibraryFor your students, Academic Liaison Librarians are the main point of contact with the Library – there is one for every subject offered at Reading. They can help your students make effective use of the huge range of resources the Library has to offer in support of their studies by:

  • showing them how to use information resources effectively – Academic Liaison Librarians create online Library guides for your subject and can provide group (embedded or standalone) training sessions for students in your School/Department
  • providing individual help with research – Academic Liaison Librarians can offer in depth one to one help in finding information including: helping students to identify the most relevant print and e-resources to use, providing guidance on developing effective search strategies and advising on referencing, including the use of bibliographic management software such as Endnote
  • showing them how to save time by making the most of all Library services

The Library contains a variety of study spaces to help your students find a space that suits them best, such as silent study, study pods, and height adjustable tables. Library staff will be happy to help your students explore these spaces. The Library has an excellent guide on supporting users with disabilities, including studying with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.
