Who is this guidance for?
This guidance is mainly aimed at academic colleagues who deliver teaching and assessment activities but is also relevant for other student-facing colleagues who have a responsibility for supporting the implementation of reasonable adjustments in the learning environment, or colleagues who support curriculum and pedagogy development (see illustrative list below).
What you are asked to do now:
- e-Module: In response to requests for more training on this subject a UoR specific e-learning module has been created. Colleagues who have a role in implementing or supporting students’ reasonable adjustments for teaching and assessment should complete the e-Module on Implementing Reasonable Adjustments, as soon as possible. It takes around 30mins to complete. Please encourage colleagues in your School/team to complete this training
- The main web page for guidance about implementing reasonable adjustments has been updated and includes links to all the relevant training and resources available. Please highlight this webpage to colleagues in your School/team.
- Full Guidance: Understanding and Implementing Reasonable Adjustments for Teaching and Assessment. This is the University’s main guidance document for understanding how to implement reasonable adjustments for students in the teaching and learning context. Please highlight this guidance to colleagues in your School/team.
- Disability Resources area: This is where the full suite of guidance and resources are published, including links to other training, information, and opportunities to share good practice. To access colleagues should join the Disability Resources Teams area. To do this, click on the above link and select ‘request access’, where one of the Teams admin will be able to approve your request. Some staff may already be added, particularly if you have a role such as Dis Rep or DAT. Please read through the information in the Teams area to find the resources you require.
