The University’s annual Teaching and Learning Conference: Building an Academic Community was a resounding success with 100 colleagues and students attending morning and afternoon keynote sessions as well as a series of six workshops. The morning keynote on the theme of Student-Staff relationships as the foundation for partnership, engagement and belonging was delivered by Dr Catherine Bovill from the University of Edinburgh and this provided the perfect opportunity to launch the University’s Principles of Partnership. The strand for the afternoon was the Academic Tutoring System (ATS) and Dr Alison Stenton, from the University of Oxford, delivered a fascinating keynote on the topic of Tutoring through a pedagogic lens: Reflections on the power of talk for learning.

Slides from the conference can be found on the conference webpage.
