Academic Tutoring mini-conference: 11th March 2020

On Wednesday 11th March we will be holding a half-day conference about Academic Tutoring, celebrating how far we have come with implementing the Academic Tutor System Project, sharing good practice and raising aspirations for the future. Dr Naomi Winstone from the University of Surrey will give the keynote, exploring ways in which Academic Tutors can help students to interpret and act upon their feedback effectively, increasing the quality of students’ academic engagement. T&L Conference 2019: Building an Academic Community

The University's annual Teaching and Learning Conference: Building an Academic Community was a resounding success with 100 colleagues and students attending morning and afternoon keynote sessions as well as a series of six workshops. The morning keynote on the theme of Student-Staff relationships as the foundation for partnership, engagement and belonging was delivered by Dr Catherine Bovill from the University of Edinburgh and this provided the perfect opportunity to launch the University's Principles of Partnership. The strand for the afternoon was the Academic Tutoring System (ATS) and Dr Alison Stenton, from the University of Oxford, delivered a fascinating keynote on the topic of Tutoring through a pedagogic lens: Reflections on the power of talk for learning.
